ABOUT blood.twin
Emerging from the shadows of London's vibrant underground, blood.twin is an independent DIY solo recording artist who began releasing music in late 2024. The name ‘blood.twin’ originated from a popular ‘goth band name generator’ meme, adapted to a singular, more mysterious form and the space replaced with a stylistic dot.
The artist's journey into music started at age 14 in 1999, sparked by a BBC documentary on the New Romantics. This led to early experiments with sampling (The Human League and New Order) and remixing on a PC, alongside guitar and piano lessons. After formative years absorbing diverse musical influences within the family home and early band experiences including performing on stage with a pre-Horrors Faris Badwan. blood.twin took an 11-year artistic hiatus from 2011-2022.
Creativity was reignited first through a return to visual art (under the name net.fraleet) before a return to music. The blood.twin project itself was unintentionally born from a net.fraleet track titled 'My Fried Brain', which sparked a new musical vision. With a theatrical background informing a love for storytelling, music became the truest form of expression for blood.twin, driven by a need to channel the darker side of life, anxieties and what the artist describes as "a black cloud of actual and impending doom". It's a cathartic process, hoping to connect with listeners and make them feel seen and less alone in their own struggles.
This self-reliant approach is evident in all facets of the project, from music creation to visual concepts, with the artist preferring to let the music speak for itself and maintain an enigmatic presence. This intentional mystery is a core part of the blood.twin aesthetic, inviting listeners to immerse themselves fully.

THE MUSIC
blood.twin offers an intense and immersive, musical experience, weaving "cinematic soundscapes" with "dense, atmospheric synth work" and a "touch of industrial grit". The sound often evokes the power of a full band despite being a solo project where music is created "in the box". Production is noted for its clarity, providing a "solid base" for the song's narrative.
Key Sonic Elements:
- »Driving Drum Machines & Prominent Basslines: Creating a powerful, danceable rhythmic foundation, influenced by post-punk legends.
- »Dense, Atmospheric Synths: Crafting an aural environment that is both "glittering", "juddering", "recognizable and otherworldly".
- »Deep, resonant male gothic vocals and spoken word deliver lyrics with a dynamic range, from "brooding incantations" to "pain-filled cries of desperation". In stark contrast, loud, shouting command vocals drawn from the martial industrial genre are used to add theatricality and narrative depth.
- »Guitar Blasts & Processed Guitars: Adding textural layers and atmospheric washes.
Lyrical Themes & Featured Singles:
blood.twin's lyrics delve into the recesses of the human psyche, exploring dark romanticism, gothic horror, existential questions (such as "Did I choose darkness or did darkness choose me?" — 'Born To Darkness'), isolation, sin, societal mistrust and the fragility of sanity. A recurring theme is "gothic introspection", focusing on internal psychological landscapes.
‘Sticky’ (Aug 2025): Explores the weaponization of an obsessive thought, transforming it from a private torment into an invasive, psychic entity. It is a soundtrack to a mental haunting and a good example of how an idea can be weaponized.
‘Was It A Dream?’ (Mar 2025): Explores the liminal space between waking and dreaming, where memories and nightmares collide. Vampirism serves as a potent metaphor for existential dread, fractured identity and being caught between conscience and unconscious undeath.
‘Not Sure’ (Jan 2025): Tackles themes of self-destruction, inner turmoil and overwhelming uncertainty in a world where trust is elusive. The Ghost Aura Altered Mix (Feb 2025) transforms it into an "icy darkelectro club hit", amplifying its themes with EBM beats and cold synth textures. The lyrics feature dark, vignette-like verses and a desperate chorus cry of "I'M NOT SURE!"
‘Dark Bloodlands’ (Debut Single, Sep 2024): Praised for its "icy romanticism" and "undeniable energy," this track navigates a balance between "fear and fascination". Lyrics paint a vivid picture of madness, primal fear, and a beckoning into a void.
